It’s 'Guzaarish' time for Hrithik, Ash

Source :: ApunKaChoice
Bhansali’s film starring Hrithik, Ash is set to roll

They have made an adorable couple in films like Dhoom 2 and Jodhaa Akbar. Yet the pairing of Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai isn’t written about as much as other popular onscreen jodis of Hindi film industry.

Now, Hrithik and Ash come together again for
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Guzaarish, a love story in which the protagonist is a paraplegic. Bhansali, known for his attention to details, has been meeting a number of paraplegia patients in the last few weeks. Hrithik, on his part, has been preparing for his role by moving around on a wheelchair in his home. Ash, however, has been too busy with the shoot of Mani Ratnam’s film Raavana.

As Bhansali readies to start shooting the film on Friday in Mumbai’s Film City, he’s confident that Ash won’t take long to slip into her character in the film.

The director has already visited the holy dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer to seek blessings before starting the project. It’s a ritual he reportedly does before the start of his films.

On Friday, as Ash and Hrithik report on the sets, Bhansali would be accompanied by his mother who will reportedly do the mahurat. The film will later be shot in Goa.

‘Guzaarish’ is said to be a love story between a partially paralyzed man and a nurse. It is believed to be the story of a paraplegic who seeks the help of the woman he loves to end his life.

Father figures

Source ::: MumbaiMirror

Far away from the public eye, Hrithik Roshan is just like any other father who bonds with, and also disciplines, his two sons at home

Hrithik Roshan, who feels he hasn’t been able to spend enough time with his younger son Hridaan, who is fourteen months old, now intends to make up for lost time.

“I’ve been shooting most of the time. I’ve hardly had time to be with him. Hridaan smiles at everything and everyone. He’s quite a smiley baby,” says the proud papa.

As for the elder son, three-year-old Hrehaan, Hrithik says he’s a super-hero. “Sometimes for half a day Hrehaan is Krrish and for the other half of the day he is Spiderman or Superman. So he’s flying around the house all day. Sometimes he falls and gets hurt but that’s okay. He’s fantastic.”

Hrithik loves everything to be well-placed in the house. “Hrehaan is allowed to go as crazy as he wants in the house, as long as he puts all the toys back. I’ve never stopped him from doing anything. Even when he was just a one-and-a-half year old and he banged the DVD player, I reasoned rather than shouted at him,” he says.

All fathers believe that their children are the smartest. And Hrithik is no different. Seemingly ordinary things take on a special glow just because it’s one’s child who is being discussed. “Hrehaan wakes up early in the morning and puts on the DVD player to watch any films he wants. He holds the DVD in the centre hole because he doesn’t want it to get scratched. He also puts on the air conditioner himself. It’s amazing,” adds Hrithik.

At the moment, Hrehaan’s favourite films are Spiderman and Krrish.

Commenting on how much he is willing to invest both physically and emotionally in a film, Hrithik says, “The big question I always ask myself before doing a film is, can I give my right arm for it? If the answer is yes, then I’m on. For Kites, I can give both my arms.”

On second thoughts, he says, “Considering what I went through with my knees, I take that back. Nothing matters more than your health. Now when I pray for my sons, I pray for their good health.”

Kites will fly in december

Source ::: Midday
By: Subhash K Jha

Hrithik Roshan's much-awaited flick will release worldwide on December 18

After much hoopla and indecision, it's finally official. Anurag Basu's Kites will release on December 18. And no, the film was not delayed due to editing issues.

Rather, it was waiting for international buyers. Says a source, "Now that there's a slump in the international market, Kites won't wait for international buyers any longer.

Fly High: A scene from Hrithik-Barbara starrer Kites

The producers will give the film on a commission basis to international distributors."

The decision to release Kites on December 18 was taken after watching the film's final cut. Post-editing, the film is apparently an erotic feast.
The love scenes between Hrithik and Mori are sizzling and the producers have nothing to worry about.

World Release

Rakesh Roshan admits they're looking at December 18 as the worldwide release date for Kites.

"But there are details that still need to be worked out and I'd rather not talk about it until everything is in place," he said. Adds Anurag, "Yes, we are looking at the date. I've left the final decision to Roshanji and Eros."
Song Chopped

Meanwhile, according to sources, Rakesh and Anurag had a difference of opinion over retaining a Barbara-Hrithik song.

Rakesh, weaned on commercial cinema, thought it was an USP, while Anurag thought it hampered the film's flow.

The song now goes off. However, Anurag insisted, "As for the songs, they all carry the story forward. If we remove one, I'll have to re-edit the film for continuity."

Bhansali is thrilled with Hrithik’s dedication

Source ::: FilmiCafe

If there’s someone who takes Aamir Khan’s level of perfection to another level, it’s Hrithik Roshan. Duggu, like Aamir never works on more than one film at a time. Now that his work on Kites is almost over, he has started researching for Sanjay Bhansali’s Guzarish where he plays a quadriplegic character.

Restricted to his bed for most of the film, Hrithik will also have to take up the challenge of emoting and bringing out the struggle of a quadriplegic person.

But despite serious research, Hrithik realized it would still not be an easy task to be in bed all day on the set. So, he has decided to stay in bed for 8 hours twice a week, without sleeping or talking to anyone. He hopes it will help him grasp the feelings of his character.

Needless to say, his director Bhansali is thrilled with his dedication to the film, although his friends might have a reason or two to complain. But then all work and no play doesn’t make Duggu a dull boy, it just makes him a better actor.

Hrithik shares his Sussanne!

Source :: Times Of India

Everyone knows that Hrithik Roshan’s latest addition to his right wrist is a tattoo bearing wife Sussanne’s name. BT gives you the first look at the same.
Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik wanted to surprise Sussanne, who is holidaying in London with her good friend Gauri Khan and a few others. So he waited for Sussanne and his sons, Hrehaan and Hridhan, to fly off to London and then called tattoo artist Sameer Patange home.

The perfectionist that he is, he discussed the tattoo in great detail. Patange says, “He chose an Elvish font that was made famous with the Lord Of The Ringsfranchise.” Hrithik, who didn’t wish to spoil the surprise for Sussanne, then made sure that none of the papers nor channels got to see the tattoo before his wife did.

But here’s a dekko of the tattoo. Hrithik’s expression clearly shows that he is exuberant about getting his wife’s name permanently inked on his wrist. And so what if it is to just make Sussane happy! Didn’t Saif Ali Khan do the same? And David Beckham? Then!

Wrist assured, Sussane Roshan

Hrithik Roshan gets wife Sussane’s name tattooed on his right wrist. Trying too hard to placate her, is he?

Hrithik and Sussane Roshan

While several reports of the Hrithik-Sussane marriage being in trouble are doing the rounds, Hrithik is trying (perhaps too hard) to prove that all’s well between him and his petite wife and that Ms Barbara Mori is nothing more than his co-star in Kites. The latest on the couple is that Hrithik has got Sussane’s name tattooed on his right wrist. Hrithik is quite happy to have finally got the tattoo done.

A source said, “Hrithik had been planning to get his wife’s name tattooed on his wrist for a long time. He trusted no one but tattoo artiste, Sameer Patange, who had earlier too done tattoos for him and Sussane. Hrithik got Sussane’s name tattooed while she is away in London with sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan. The actor is on his way to London and intends to give Sussane a surprise.”

Sameer Patange confirmed the news and said, “Yes, Hrithik has got Sussane’s name tattooed on his wrist. We had discussed it earlier and he had asked me to work on an apt design when he and Sussane got a (six-point star) tattoo done from me a few months ago.”

Sameer, who runs his studio in Bandra, added, “Hrithik got the tattoo done while Sussane wasn’t in India. We had several meetings at his residence to finalise how the tattoo will look. I chose a font called Elvish, which is unique. Hrithik liked it a lot too. It was great to see how co-operative he was, carefully following all the instructions before and after the tattoo. He was like a child, extremely thrilled after the tattoo was done and couldn’t wait to show it to Sussane.”

Hrithik Roshan goes into method acting mode

Source:: RealBollywood

Hrithik RoshanHrithik Roshan is going the Aamir Khan way. Surprised? Well he is turning himself into a method actor just the way Aamir likes to approach and do his role with perfection. Our sources close to Hrithik reveal; he is doing it for his upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Guzaarish, also starring Aishwarya Rai. He further reveals, “Hrithik plays a paraplegic patient in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. He is shown confined to a wheelchair mostly in the film with Aishwarya Rai

playing nurse to him. Now to bring more perfection to his act, he has begun visiting a suburban Mumbai hospital almost every day to observe paraplegic patients. He mostly goes in during the early morning times when the hospital is less crowded and before the visitors start coming in. He has even started interacting with the patients there.”

Incidentally, Hrithik plays a radio jockey named Ethan in the film before he turns paraplegic, so we won’t be surprised if he starts visiting radio stations for the same soon.

'Perfectionist’ Hrithik secretly making frequent visits to hospital

Source:: Spicezee

Mumbai: According to the latest B-town buzz, superstar Hrithik Roshan has been making frequent secret visits to a hospital during the wee hours of the day.

Our source reveals that there’s nothing to worry about, for the reason of Hrithik’s visits is apparently an upcoming venture of the actor.

Grapevine has it that being a ‘perfectionist’, Hrithik is doing the rounds of the hospital to learn some lessons for he plays an ill man in his next film ‘Guzaarish’, to be directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor is making sure that he gets a good idea of how the patients suffering from the same ailment conduct themselves.

Well, such dedication coming from none other than Hrithik is no news, of course!

Hrithik's Hero is his Didi

Source:: IndiaTimes

Hrithik Roshan is not media savvy and thus has barely spoken about at length about his family members. We always wondered if Hrithik was reserved but the truth is the superstar gets highly emotional when it comes to his loved ones and thus prefers not to talk about them much, however in one of his recent interviews Duggu pour his heart out when it came to describing his sister Sunaina who he considers as his true hero.

Sunaina told us, “I am on the cover of this woman’s magazine and during my photo shoot Duggu himself dropped in for ten minutes and checked on the lights et all. When the issue was out, he read my interview and said Didi, you’ve moved me to tears.”
Hrithik is heard to have said about Sunaina, “I call her Didi. She's one of the most beautiful human beings on this planet. I don't say it often but I love her more than anyone... The way she struggles, the way she triumphs. She overcomes everything with a smile. She's an example of love, purity and beauty. If there is anybody in the world who deserves to be happy and free, it's her! She is a fighter. She has fought death and has come out stronger and brighter. She is a HERO in the true sense of the term. I can't even fathom what it must be like to overcome one battle and then realise that there's another one...another one... I sometimes feel very angry because she has had to go through so much... But maybe God puts her through all this pain so that she can be an inspiration for us. I wish her luck and joy for the rest of her life. And I wish all her battles are over and life is beautiful. I love you, Didi.”

Sunaina had has to deal with a failed marriage and is now a single parent but her fighting spirit is what is heroic according to Hrithik. We couldn’t agree more with you Hrithik. We salute this wonderful bro-sis pair.

The Roshans delete a song choreographed by Farah Khan from Kites; are yet to inform her about their decision

Kites needed a surgical cut to make the length savory for the audience, and a song choreographed by Farah Khan was the first victim. The decision, though cold-blooded, was deemed necessary, but courtesy demands that Farah should have been informed about it. However, for the Roshans, extending the courtesy was not on top of their priority lists. There’s no saving grace here — it doesn’t feature in the Hindi or the English version either.

Although two weeks have lapsed, they still haven’t found the time to speak to Farah and explain their decision. The salsa number was shot over two-and-a-half days with the lead pair, Hrithik and Barbara Mori. The sensuous song weaves in the romance of English and Spanish.

When Rakesh Roshan, Anurag Basu and Hrithik Roshan took the decision, Anurag told Hrithik that he would like to inform Farah about the same. But Hrithik told Anurag that he would do the needful. Strangely, Farah was not informed.

When contacted, Farah confirmed, “I am not aware that my song is not in Kites anymore.”

This must be a blow for Farah Khan, who had taken up very selective work after the delivery of her triplets. Her two assignments had included work for her friends with Billu and Dostana, while Kites was only her third professional assignment.

A source close to the Roshans explained, “A large number of people who saw Kites at Cannes felt that the film was too long. There was a lot of debate about what should be chopped. After great deliberation, it was decided that Farah’s song should be deleted.” The decision is quite a surprise because the Roshans had announced the song with a lot of fanfare.

We don’t know if Farah was actually disappointed when we told her but she said, “I am not upset. It must be for the betterment of Kites. And maybe I will be informed after the final print is out.”

Rakesh Roshan and Anurag Basu remained unavailable for comment.

Time, please

Source :: Mumbai Mirror

Hrithik needs more time to prepare for his role of a paraplegic; Sanjay Leela Bhansali offers respite by recreating Goa in a studio in Mumbai

Hrithik has been concentrating on his home production, Kites, which has left him with little time to prepare for the role of a paraplegic in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Guzaarish. The actor may be moving around on a wheelchair at home, but the role requires more work than that, for which time is in short supply. Bhansali’s solution is simple: bring Goa to Mumbai. He has decided to recreate Goa in a studio in Mumbai for the first major schedule, giving Hrithik some breathing room.

Confirming the news, Sanjay said, “It’s not just Hrithik whose role requires tremendous preparation. Aishwarya’s part too is far from a slip-in slip-out character. Both are very busy actors. But they’re also quick on the uptake. And once they are back, they’ll be able to give themselves completely to the project.”

In recent weeks, Sanjay has been meeting paraplegics all over the country and they’ve also been invited to Mumbai to meet the director. Commenting on the meeting, the director said emotionally, “It has been a life-changing experience. It is so inspiring to meet these people. Many of them haven’t moved from their wheelchairs and beds all their lives. And yet they’re so free-spirited and their zest for life is amazing.”

“I want Guzaarish to be inspirational and not some depressing and defeatist story of physical disability. And I want my lead actors to be as inspired as I am. I know Hrithik and Aishwarya can bring the spirit of ebullience into the story. I know they’ll get the point as soon as they join me,” said Sanjay.

With Hrithik, Bhansali forsees to recreate the magic of 'Black'

Source :: TotalFilmy

Bhansali to recreate ‘Black’s magic with ‘Guzaarish’
Just as ‘Black’, had a visually impaired Rani Mukherjee opposite Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Guzaarish’ will have Hrithik playing a wheelchair bound paraplegia patient, a disorder that results from spinal cord injury and leads to impairment in sensory or motor functions, often binding the patients to wheelchair or bed, opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Not only the flick ‘Black’ was a terrific box office hit, but also, it was critically acclaimed for its bold script narrating a profound relationship between a blind Rani and a passionate alcoholic Bachchan.

Hrithik’s versatality

Hrithik as we know tries different roles always and also performs them splendidly. This role however, is a new one, even for Hrithik.

Though Hrithik has played the role of a mentally challenged boy before in ‘Koi Mil Gaya’, but that is pretty different from playing a physically handicapped person.

“Hrithik plays Ethan, a radio show host. Aishwarya plays a married nurse who is also Hrithik’s caregiver. The film also deals with the controversial subject of mercy killing/euthanasia.

"Ash’s character is interesting because she plays a married woman who gets attracted to Hrithik as the second half progresses. The film has dark tones throughout,” a source informs.

Hrithik in search of perfection

Hrithik is pretty excited about his role for it’s completely different from his earlier roles.

In order to completely understand his character, he is researching on it and is often meeting Bhansali to understand his role in a better way.

Hrithik’s new role will completely change his image in the minds of the audience.
